HOW DO I BATTLE?
As a general rule, a battle will begin and end through the following process:
1. You ask for a battle or are asked to battle. Both parties agree and an administrator is notified to set a battle thread. 2. A battle thread is set dictating the rules for this particular battle, including how many rounds, how long each round is, and how long each participant has to drop. Each participant must check in to show they are present and acknowledge the rules. 3. As determined by the rules given, each participant submits their verse. This may be done via a blind drop or directly into the thread. With a blind drop, verses are submitted to the staff to be posted simultaneously with the opponent's verse. 4. After the battle is completed, the judge's panel is notified and will review the battle before giving an official verdict.
WHAT IS A QUICKFIRE BATTLE?
A quickfire battle is the text equivalent of a freestyle battle. Bars are limited to referencing a topic that is given at the beginning of a round or rebutting an opponent's bars in the same round, so as to prove that no material has been pre-written. Both participants will repeatedly drop verses no longer than four lines with no limit to the number of verses allowed until the timer expires, typically after 15-25 minutes.
